Solamente en México existen 15.4 M de adultos mayores (INEGI, 2018) y se considera que la cifra de esta sección de la población aumente en los próximos años. Las caídas constituyen las primeras causas de mortalidad (40%) en este sector, con incidencia del 60%. Con el tiempo se desarrolla un daño estructural en el adulto mayor el cual puede ser detectado y tratado por especialistas como lo son los fisioterapeutas. El fisioterapeuta juega uno de los roles más importantes en la rehabilitación del paciente, pero actualmente no existen suficientes instrumentos de medición cuantitativa, sesgando la valoración. Es nuestro objetivo el desarrollar una herramienta que ayude al adulto mayor en términos de monitoreo y prevención y al especialista, el fisioterapeuta, en la valoración objetiva del paciente. Teniendo una amplia participación en la rehabilitación del movimiento humano, los fisioterapeutas son capaces de intervenir incluso en la prevención de futuros episodios de caída por medio de un tratamiento adaptado a la necesidad de cada individuo. La posibilidad de brindar un tratamiento efectivo, va relacionada con la calidad de la herramienta o tecnología utilizada para la recopilación de características anatómicas y posturales del paciente; por lo tanto identificamos la oportunidad de incursionar en tecnología que le brinde datos confiables al personal de salud sobre el paciente por medio de un sistema de monitoreo físico y metabólico para el análisis diario de la marcha, postura y funciones vitales, compuesto de 3 herramientas que contribuyen a la prevención de caídas por debilitamiento, pérdida de equilibrio y alteraciones no atendidas a tiempo. Para la efectividad de la obtención de estos datos es importante contar con un monitoreo constante que también permita al paciente, en este caso el adulto mayor, continuar con su vida de manera independiente y cómoda. Esto lo logramos mediante dispositivos no invasivos y de fácil uso que le permiten al adulto mayor ser autosuficiente e independiente.

Only in Mexico there are 15.4 M Elderly people (INEGI, 2019) and its considered that this number will rise in the next years. Falling accidents are the leading causes of mortality rates (40%) in this sector, with an incidence of 60%. With time, structural damage may develop on elderly people which can be detected and treated by specialists such as physiotherapists. Physiotherapists play an important role in patient rehabilitation, but now there are insufficient instruments for quantitative measurement, skewing the assessment. It is our goal to develop a system that may help the elderly in terms of monitoring and prevention, and at the same time helping the specialist, the physiotherapist, with an objective valuation of the patient. While having a broad participation in human movement rehabilitation, physiotherapists are capable of intervention even in the prevention of future episodes of falls through a personalized treatment for each of the individual’s necessities. The possibility to offer an effective treatment is directly related with the tools and the technology involved for collecting anatomic and postural characteristics of the patient; thus, we identified the opportunity of immersing ourselves into technology development that may offer reliable data to health personal about patients through a physical and metabolic monitoring for daily march analysis, posture and vital functions. This system would be composed of 3 components that contribute to the prevention of falls due to weakening, loss of balance and disorders that would otherwise not be attended to in time. For effectiveness of data collection, it is important to rely on a constant monitoring that may also allow the patient, in this case the elderly, to continue with his life in a comfortable and independent way. We achieve this through noninvasive devices and of easy use that allow the elderly to be self-sufficient and independent.

Sistema de asistencia al uso de nuevas tecnologías. Consiste de un móvil de formas curvas y cubierta de silicon, pantalla táctil, app con tutoriales pre cargados. Los tutoriales serán grabados por personas en edad similar, presentando un enfoque social, generando confianza y seguridad.

Assistance system to use of new technologies. It consists of a mobile phone with curved shapes and a silicone cover, a touch screen, an app with preloaded tutorials. The tutorials will be recorded by people of a similar age, presenting a social approach, generating confidence and security.

AsistenteMayor es un sistema de asistencia e introducción al uso de nuevas tecnologías para adultos mayores. El sistema incluye el diseño de un móvil de formas curvas, cubierta de silicón (accesorio), dando confianza al uso y agarré del mismo, eliminando la sensación de fragilidad; pantallas táctiles como cualquier celular de uso común, de esta manera se elimina la sensación de rezago tecnológico y se logra la inclusión, el móvil cuenta con tres botones que dirigen de manera habitual para el adulto mayor, a contactos frecuentes, llamadas y aplicaciones de uso frecuente, junto a las cámaras frontales y trasera encontrarán un sensor, de esa forma al deslizar uno de sus dedos frente a ellos la activan sin perder tiempo buscando íconos, al adquirir el aparato la app estará precargada, con funciones de asistencia y guía para facilitar el uso del móvil y las funciones extras que el individuo necesite, así la comunicación e interacción de los adultos mayores con otros miembros de su familia se disfrutará mas, habiendo logrando la independencia para instalar apps, abrir cuentas de redes sociales y utilizar aplicaciones básicas de primera necesidad y avanzadas, sin solicitar ayuda a otros miembros de su familia.

El proyecto puede escalar en tecnología, forma, incluso usuarios, al incluir tutoriales de todas las apps que se deseen a necesidad del usuario, además, los tutoriales serán grabados (intencionalmente) por personas en edad similar, presentando un enfoque social, dado que provee un trabajo con mayor empatía por quienes dan la instrucción, porque también lo han vivido; generando confianza y seguridad en quien ahora aprende de ellos.
El sistema consta de: Dispositivo – App – Accesorios y un call center, para resolver dudas con mayor grado de dificultad.

La App AsistenteMayor podrá ser adquirida por separado e integrada a cualquier dispositivo móvil. El funcionamiento parte de una interfaz gráfica que presenta una pantalla que simula un discado de teléfono antiguo, fomentando empatía entre la app y los usuarios; para activar las acciones el usuario deberá aplicar unos segundos de presión en el ícono deseado, al aplicar la presión se activa la función enviándola al centro del disco, el usuario deberá presionarla una vez más para desplegar un menú donde se ofrece un tutorial, usar la app y/o regresar al menú inicial.

El diseño de los íconos, retoma formas básicas con detalles mínimos, emulando objetos de la década de los 70´s y 80´s, combinados con objetos actuales, siempre facilitando el reconocimiento de las mismas, la tipografía seleccionada es palo seco modificada, debido a que la simpleza de las formas geométricas facilitan la lectura en textos de menor tamaño, a su vez, incluyen un remate facilitando la continuidad de lectura, aunado a la selección cromática con la intención de facilitar los contrastes fondo/figura.

AsistenteMayor is a system of assistance which introduces to the use of new technologies to older adults. The system includes the design of a mobile phone with curved shapes, silicone cover as an accesory, giving confidence to use and grip it, eliminating the feeling of fragility. Touch screens achieving inclusion with modern cell phones in common use, thus eliminating the feeling of technological gap the mobile has three buttons that routinely direct the elderly to frequent contacts, calls and frequently used applications, next to the front and back cameras you will find a sensor that activates the camera, that way by sliding one of his fingers in front of them they activate the camera without wasting time looking for icons, it includes a preloaded app, with assistance and guide functions to facilitate the communication and interaction of older adults with other family members, achieving independence to install apps, open social network accounts and use basic essential and advanced applications, without asking other family members for help.

The project can scale in technology, form, even users, by including tutorials of all the apps that are desired by the user, in addition, the tutorials will be recorded by people of a similar age, presenting a social approach, since it generates a job with greater empathy for those who give the instruction, because they have also lived it; generating confidence and security in those who now learn from them.
The system consists of: Device – App – Accessories and in adition a call center, operated for elderly people too.

The AssistantMayor App can be purchased separately and integrated into any mobile device. The operation starts from a graphical interface that presents a screen that simulates an old telephone dialing, fostering empathy between the app and the users; for the activation of the actions, the user must apply a few seconds of pressure on the desired icon, when applying the pressure the function is activated by sending into the center of the disk, the user must press it once more to display a menu where a tutorial is offered, use the app and / or return to the initial menu.

The design of the icons, takes up basic shapes with minimal details, emulating objects from the 70’s and 80’s, combined with current objects, always facilitating their recognition, the selected typeface is modified dry stick, due to that the simplicity of the geometric shapes make it easier to read in smaller texts, in turn, they include an ending facilitating the continuity of reading, together with the chromatic selection with the intention of facilitating background / figure contrasts.
